Meet the Executive Committee: The Leadership Behind EDNA

At the heart of the Essendon District Netball Association (EDNA) is a dedicated team of leaders committed to ensuring our community thrives. The Executive Committee plays a crucial role in shaping the direction of the association, supporting our players, coaches, and families, and upholding the values that make EDNA a vibrant and inclusive environment. Let’s take a moment to introduce the dynamic trio leading our association—Naomi, Fiona, and Yvette.

Naomi - President

As the President of EDNA, Naomi Wood is the driving force behind our association. With years of experience in both netball and community leadership, Naomi brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and vision to the role. She is dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive environment for all members of EDNA, from the youngest players to the most experienced coaches.

Naomi’s leadership style is characterised by her commitment to inclusivity, her strategic thinking, and her hands-on approach. She believes in the power of netball to bring people together, build confidence, and create lasting friendships. Under her guidance, EDNA continues to grow and evolve, always striving to meet the needs of our diverse community.

Fiona - Vice President

Fiona, our Vice President, is a pillar of support within the EDNA community. Working closely with Naomi, she ensures that the day-to-day operations of the association run smoothly and efficiently. Fiona’s background in netball, combined with her strong organisational skills, makes her an invaluable asset to the team.

Her role involves not only overseeing key initiatives and events but also acting as a liaison between the Executive Committee and the broader EDNA community. Fiona is passionate about fostering a welcoming atmosphere where all players feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Her dedication to the sport and to the community is evident in everything she does.

Yvette - Secretary

Behind every successful organisation is a great Secretary, and Yvette is no exception. As the Secretary of EDNA, Yvette is responsible for maintaining clear communication within the association and ensuring that all administrative tasks are handled with precision. From coordinating meetings to managing correspondence, Yvette’s attention to detail keeps everything running smoothly.

Yvette’s commitment to EDNA extends beyond her administrative duties. She is a strong advocate for transparency, ensuring that all members are kept informed and involved in the decision-making process. Her approachable nature and dedication to the role make her a key figure in the EDNA leadership team.

A Strong Team with a Shared Vision

Together, Naomi, Fiona, and Yvette form a cohesive and dynamic leadership team. They share a common vision for EDNA—one that is focused on growth, inclusivity, and excellence in netball. Their collaborative approach ensures that every decision made is in the best interest of the association and its members.

Under their stewardship, EDNA has not only expanded its reach but has also strengthened its commitment to creating a positive and empowering environment for everyone involved. Whether it’s organising competitions, supporting player development, or engaging with the wider community, the Executive Committee’s leadership is at the core of everything EDNA does.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to navigate the netball season, we are fortunate to have such a dedicated and passionate Executive Committee leading the way. Naomi, Fiona, and Yvette are not just leaders; they are mentors, advocates, and champions for all things netball. Their hard work and dedication are what make EDNA a thriving and successful association, and we are excited to see what the future holds under their leadership.

Thank you, Naomi, Fiona, and Yvette, for your unwavering commitment to EDNA. Here’s to a fantastic season ahead!
